The Noorderkerk, built in 1620-1623, is one of the oldest Protestant churches in the Netherlands. The Foundation Noorderkerk Concerts organizes an annual series of concerts in the Noorderkerk which often take place on Saturday. The Pianola Museum, one of the smallest museums in Amsterdam, is located in the Westerstraat (Jordaan quarter). In the museum are many pianola's, reproduction pianos and related matters. The music archive includes nearly 25,000 music rolls. The Movies is the oldest movie theater of the Netherlands and one of the oldest movie theaters in the world. Go there to see a movie or have a drink in the cosy bar and restaurant (located on the Haarlemmerdijk). http://www.themovies.nl/site

The Westerkerk dates from 1631 and is perhaps best known for containing the grave of Rembrandt. The church tower that dominates the nearby Jordaan quarter has inspired many songs and constitutes one of the symbols of the city of Amsterdam. http://www.westerkerk.nl/
